Welcome to Issue No 187 of The Ephemerist. Ephemera can often be said to document particular social movements in history. The collection of self-made fanzines and flyers – evidence of a movement that ‘put a middle finger up to modern society’ in the late 1970s and early 80s – in the first article by Rick Poynor – are no exception. We are delighted to introduce a selection of ephemeral items illustrated by the artist Charles Mozley, who is receiving renewed attention through two current projects. Colour is a both key component in Christmas cards of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and the discussion of dairy-free milk packaging of the twenty-first. Our regular Mrs Pepys and Notes & Queries complete, what I hope our readers will agree, yet another not-be-missed issue. The Editor
