Q What were people reading in air raid shelters in World War II?

Could these colourful little 32 page booklets with six black and white illustrations each telling a romantic story be such an item that helped to maintain wartime morale in those dark times?

Does anyone have any evidence of them being specifically marketed for use in air raid shelters or perhaps being sold in them?
