Engraving printed in the year 1774

1774 Engraving

Q What is it? I'm sure it is an individually printed item - this is the fourth or fifth time I have had one. What does it communicate?

I have been studying the history of the treatment of smallpox in the eighteenth century and would suggest it may be a ticket for admission to be innoculated against smallpox.

The image appears to show a rather crude stylised interpretation of the original method of innoculation. By 1774 there were numerous hospitals and private practicioners in London and throughout Britain offering such a treatment.
