Cabbage Patch Babies

Q I wonder if anyone can throw any light on the two postcards above? The picture is of cabbages with babies emerging from them - the other one is on a similar theme.

The cards were clearly produced in a German-speaking country (“Mitteilung” on the reverse for the message) but “Postcard” is given in a number of different languages, many Eastern European, which leads me to think the cards are from the Austro-Hungarian Empire rather than Germany.

Any information on these oddities (postmarked 190?) would be really welcome.
