French Trade Card
Q This attractive chromolithographed French trade card,
90 x 130mm (3½ x 5in) and late 19th century, is for
Au Roi D’ Yvetot a haberdasher and milliner in Toulouse.
It seems likely that the cart drawn by the donkeys is associated with the shop advertised but what was contained in the large white sack behind the driver? Feathers seem unlikely but straw for bonnets is a possibility. Does anyone know the answer?
